The Penguin Class have really enjoyed exploring the weather in the last couple of days. We had great fun playing with scarves in the wind and our photographs show the enjoyment of learning outside the classroom.
Once back in the classroom we read windy day poems and collected words to extend our vocabulary, including “blustery, howling, swirling and icy. These real experiences help our children to makes sense of the world and have provoked deep thought and questioning. One Reception child asked “But where does wind come from?” From this we watched BBC explanations on how to predict weather changes. Thank you also to the Library Gang who found one of our beautiful new information books to help us answer our questions. Thank you also to Mrs Crawford who rescued a scarf from the roof. It caused great excitement!
