The Penguin Class have been learning to look more closely at the natural world. During The Big School Birdwatch we learnt to identify common species of birds, looking closely at their similarities and differences. We have also been gathering information and recording data to count how many birds we have spotted. We talked about the importance of caring for our natural world and decided to make bird feeders to help the birds through the Winter months. We also talked about Strumpshaw Fen, our local R.S.P.B reserve being just down the road, where families can visit throughout the year.
Lastly we learnt about the importance of the natural world in getting us out into the fresh air which can help us as learners in many ways. Being close to nature has a positive effect on our mental health too.
