Summer Fete 2007
The Brundall School fete took place last year on the 16th June 2007 and was held on the school field.
The theme of the fete was 'The Movies'. In addition to a movie premier styled entrance complete with a red carpet for all those attending to enter down, the fete had a movie feel with movie posters, a movie themed fancy dress and Planet Brundall to dine at.
To match the theme we secured the attendance of the 99th Imperial Garrison. The 99th Imperial Garrison are one of the UK’s 100% authentic Star Wars costuming groups. They are a not for profit charitable organisation. This was the groups only attendance in Norfolk and coincided with the 30th Anniversary celebrations for Star Wars which includes the European celebrations at Excel in July, less than a month after the fete.
The 99th Imperial Garrison brought along DARTH VADER, STORM TROOPERS and SAND TROOPERS among others to meet the children, both young and old. The fete raised money to equip the schools planned new library and IT area. The money raised from the attendance of the 99th Imperial Garrison will be divided equally between the school and the Garrison’s charity the NSPCC.
Also in attendance were The Norwich and Norfolk Medieaval Association who camped at the school for the weekend and hosted interactive displays and demonstrations including combat and weaponry.
