We had a fantastic time today finding out about life on the Broads in Anglo-Saxon times. First we visited a very windy Burgh Castle and talked about how the landscape has changed over the last thousand years. We then went to the International Boatbuilding Training College in Lowestoft, where they are building a replica of an Anglo Saxon boat found on the marshes near Loddon. We also got to try out our own boatbuilding skills designing boats, roving and carving. What do you think of our work?
