Welcome to Brundall Primary
Our mission is to achieve excellence through high achievement and creativity for all in the school community.
This term we have welcomed several visitors to the school for assemblies. The Community Police Support Officer visited to remind about staying safe for the summer and spoke to our Year 5’s. Olympian Paul Evans and Norfolk athlete Clieo Stephenson came to present awards for achievement in sport and it was inspiring for us all to hear about their journey towards their goals, and the amount of practice and hard work needed to succeed. It was a reminder that ‘learning is a journey, not a race’. We need the races and the checks to see how well we are doing, but the important part is that we keep on practicing and learning and striving to achieve mastery of our learning.
The close of this school year is a good period to reflect on how well we are achieving our aim and what we need to do to keep getting better. I have a wealth of information and feedback to consider: the data from test results, comments from parents on end of year reports, the external parent and pupil questionnaire and the report from OFSTED. We know that some pupils in some classes need intervention or different learning experiences to achieve; and that some areas of the school have a consistently high quality of teaching and learning and we intend to achieve this quality throughout the school.
Next year we welcome Christine Bagge as a Learning Support Assistant to join our team. We are wishing Mr McCluskey well as he moves to a position with the Sensory Support Service, and Mr Morgan as he takes up a new role at Salhouse Primary school. Mrs Maunder is returning from Maternity Leave and will be providing cover for Year 6 for Planning and Preparation time.
I would like to express my thanks to all the FOBs who worked so hard on the Fayre, and gave that day a different flavour and brought good participation from the children. I especially would like to thank Siw for her thorough preparation and co-ordination of the event, through to the tidy up and the notice boards with information about the event within 48 hours of the day!
I also want to thank all staff for their daily actions to keep learning interesting and engaging for all the pupils at our school.
I hope you have a good summer and look forward to seeing you in Autumn.
