Thaxton Comes To Town!
I enjoyed Jon Thaxton coming to visit. His assembly was outstanding and I loved the way we were allowed to do boxing with him, but he wasn’t allowed to hit us back. His workshop was amazingly fun because it helped our class work as a team and concentrate. The message was clever and will stay with me forever. I hope he can visit again.

I thought that the Jon Thaxton workshop was brilliant. He talked about how the hitting and the punching were meant to stay in the ring and not outside of it. He even let some of us have a go at hitting him. Then he said that he wanted one of the teachers to go and fight and Miss Brown was the unlucky one but surprisingly Miss Brown hit him down for the ten count.
After, he went round the Y5 classes but the Y6 classes had a meeting with him in the hall, one class at a time. My class went first. He set us a challenge to step on circles marked up to 50 and he set us a time of 25 seconds to do it in. We did it in the end with teamwork. After that, we declared Jon Thaxton a legend!

I thought the workshop with Jon Thaxton was really fun because we played a game and we got the best score out of all the schools he visited throughout the week. I really enjoyed it when Miss Brown had to box Jon because she won! Thank you for visiting our school Jon Thaxton!!!

Jon Thaxton was great and inspiring to me because he made me think about if you want to do something, if you try hard enough you can do it. I thought that Jon’s workshop was really fun and exciting. He showed us how to feel when we’re trying to do something we really want to do. It had a great atmosphere in the room. In the morning in assembly, he showed us that boxing must stay in the boxing ring. I had a great day with Jon Thaxton!
