Y4 Trip to Kentwell
On 23rd June, Year 4 took a journey back in time when went on our class trip to Kentwell. We stopped in the village of Lavenham where we we saw Tudor buildings. As we walked through the village wearing our Tudor garb, we felt like celebrities as people stopped and stared at us.
Then we arrived at Kentwell Hall, ate our picnic and changed our pounds and pence into groats and half groats. We entered the dark, mysterious time tunnel and left the 21st century behind us! We could hardly believe our eyes! There before us was the sights and sounds and smells of Elizabethan times.
We remembered to say “Good Morrow” instead of “Hello” and the gateman let us enter onto “The Manor” when we convinced him we were not Spaniards in disguise! We met players and gunsmiths and were let into the secret tactics being being planned to defeat the Spanish Armada.
We saw how food was cooked in a Tudor kitchen; we talked to the noblefolk and Callum was asked if he would like a job as a page! Mrs Thomas considered the offer but decided his parents may not be too happy about it.
A wonderful day was had by all and Year 4 arrived back in Brundall very tired after a day full of memories.
