This year, the staff race began in a heated clash between year groups. Mr Morgan and Mrs Thomas got off to a very fast start in the first half of the three-legged obstacle relay. Hot on their heels were Mrs Mason and Miss Peers and limping in third place were Miss Brown and Mr McCabe wearing blinkers. The ‘also-rans’ were Mrs Maunder and Mrs Grice….

but its not over yet…

this was definitely a game of two halves! Changeover of batons, or rather, maracas, bells and claves, proved difficult. Team Y3 had been holding second position well until the second half, when Mrs Smedley (the music co-ordinator) decided to give Miss Craig a lesson in holding the instruments correctly and lost them the race. Mr Odell and Mrs Sims came in third. It was a close call between The housewives’ choice, Mr Winter and Mr Stuart-Sheppard for team Y4, and Team Y5 represented by Mrs Morrish and Mrs Watson.

Anyway, who cares who wins? Its the taking part that counts!
