Congratulations to one of our Year 2 pupils who achieved their 25 metres swimming certificate.
The National Curriculum recommendations are that by the end of Year 6 children should be able to:
- swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres
- use a range of strokes effectively [for example, front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke]
- perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations
At Brundall School swimming lessons start in Year 4 although many children attend lessons out of school too. Our school website lists clubs and instructors that parents have recommended to us. These contacts are listed under the P.E section on our “Learning” tab.
