Toys in the Past

This week the Penguin Class have been investigating how children played in the past. We looked closely at some toys that were 80+ years old to look for clues. We also studied a copy of Children’s Games,  an oil-on-panel, by Flemish Renaissance artist, Pieter Bruegel the Elder, painted in 1560. They were intrigued by the dangerous games played in the past. We went on to play simple games such as 5 stones and hopscotch.
