What the Owls are reading

As part of Book Week, we have been sharing our favourite books.

Friend or Foe – Michael Morpurgo

“I really like Michael Morpurgo books.  I’ve already read Why the Whales Came and Billy the Kid.  I really like adventure stories.”

Darth Paper Strikes Back – Tom Angleberger

“I like this book because it’s a bit crazy.  It’s a really complicated adventure.”

Tom Gates: Absolutely Fantastic – Liz Pichon

“I like this book because of the humour.  I’ve read some of her other books before.”

Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life – James Patterson & Chris Tebbetts

“I chose this book as it has an eye-catching front cover.  The main character is called Rafe and he tries to break all the rules in the school.  That’s why I like it!”

Mysteries According to Humphrey – Betty G Birney

“I’m still reading this.  It’s basically about a hamster who’s a class pet.  He gives his opinion about the children in the class and helps solve the mystery of the missing teacher.”

The Flaming Olympics – Michael Coleman

“It’s about what happened from the first Olympics in 776BC up to the modern day.  It’s funny and has quizzes to test if you remember what you’ve read.”

The Twits – Roald Dahl

“I love Roald Dahl’s descriptions of Mr and Mrs Twit. I liked Charlie and the Chocolate Factory too; it felt like I was actually in the story.”
