Year 6 visit Parliament

The Peacocks and Bitterns had a fantastic trip on Friday to the Houses of Parliament.

We were treated to a full tour of the House of Commons, the House of Lords and Westminster Hall. Unfortunately we were not allowed to take photos until Westminster Hall.

Westminster Hall

The children took part in a workshop about The Journey to Democracy from King John to the present day and then were treated to a talk by a member of the House of Lords, Baroness Garden of Frognal, who was very entertaining and informative.

After a quick lunch, we walked down through Parliament Square to Downing Street – no sign of Boris!

All in all, it was a fabulous day and the children were well behaved. A big thank you to our coach driver, Gary, from Smith’s Coaches in Blofield. He was a brilliant tour guide and pointed out all the sights to the children whilst driving through London.
