Ofsted praised the Governing Body of Brundall Primary School at its last inspection stating: “The Governing Body has worked hard to build on its good work evident at the last inspection and currently it is providing the school with outstanding levels of challenge and support.”
The Governing Body has three key roles:
- To ensure clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
- To hold the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of staff
- To oversee the financial performance of the school and make sure its money is well spent
Governors have statutory duties, and act in the role of critical friend to support and challenge the school to ensure that the best interests of all Brundall pupils are at the heart of decision-making.
The Governing Body’s role is strategic; it does not get involved with the day to day running and operational management of the school; responsibility for this is delegated to the Head-teacher.
For more information on the Governing Body’s role, structure, past work and future priorities, please look at the ‘Annual Governance Statement‘ and ‘Annual Report to Parents’ documents on this website. The Annual Report is also available to view in hard copy in the school office.
Minutes of Governing Body meetings are published on the website once approved as a true and correct record or are available on request via the school office. Approved Committee Minutes are available on request via the school office.
Should you wish to contact the governors then please do so in writing, addressing the envelope to the Chair and hand it in to the school office who will forward it on.
