I’m Mrs Woods, I’m here to help you deal with any worries or concerns you have about your child and to help you tackle any home issues that are making school life really difficult for you and your family. If I cannot help you I will refer you to specialist agencies or support services if you wish.
I have a wealth of experience with supporting children and families with a wide variety of problems including
- worry & panic
- social skills & friendships
- parental separation
I’m a trained domestic abuse champion for Norfolk county council as well as a children & schools bereavement champion. I have recently completed Drawing & Talking therapy training and this intervention is very useful to help children with processing trauma.
I have lots of experience with special needs as a SEN parent myself and have 10 years’ experience of supporting Autistic Spectrum Disorder as well as numerous other conditions such as ADHD and Sensory Processing.
I’m Mrs Mayes and I work in the Pastoral Team with Mrs Woods, providing support for children and their families.
I have 3 children of my own who have all left school now but experienced anxieties and worries regarding school and friendships during their time in school.
I have experience with behaviour issues in school and have recently attended a course about supporting children who have been bereaved. I am looking forward to learning more about the Solihull parenting scheme shortly when I attend the training course. I enjoy chatting with the children in school and sharing their highs and lows, providing support where necessary.
As a team we are here to talk through any concerns or worries you may have regarding your child’s time here with us at Brundall Primary School.
